The short answer
A Brisbane contractor, Brisbane Roof and Paint, publishes $350 to $750 for a minor leak repair, $750 to $2,000 for moderate work such as a rusted valley section or a long run of ridge capping, and $2,000+ for major damage. Rebedding and repointing ridge capping runs $35 to $58 per metre on Yakka Labour’s Brisbane row. Nobody in Brisbane publishes a call-out fee, so the roofer prices your repair after seeing the roof.
Roof leak repair cost in Brisbane
Most leaks are fixed by repairing one part of the roof: a flashing, a valley, a run of ridge capping or a few tiles. These are the published Brisbane figures, each with its source.

Per job, quoted as each publisher states them, checked 22 October 2026. Brisbane Roof and Paint (Sunnybank) published its leak guide on 24 February 2026 and updated it 18 March 2026; Fortified Roofing Group (Geebung, northside) updated its post 11 December 2025; neither says whether GST is included. whatsthedamage.com.au is a national cost-guide website whose Brisbane table (updated 8 October 2026) includes GST.

Ridge capping repair cost: per metre and per job
Ridge capping is the most common repair on a Brisbane tile roof. Repointing seals over bedding that is still sound; rebedding lifts the caps and lays new mortar first. On Yakka Labour’s national rates that’s $35 to $60 per metre against $15 to $30 for repointing alone, about twice as much.

Yakka Labour is a labour-hire company’s national cost guide (published 1 October 2026, checked 22 October 2026); its prices include GST, and it says most homes have “40 to 70 metres” of ridges and hips. No Brisbane contractor publishes a per-metre ridge capping rate.

By our arithmetic, a whole roof at Yakka’s Brisbane rate is $1,400 (40 m × $35) to $4,060 (70 m × $58) to rebed and repoint, using its 40 to 70 metre range for most homes. That is our calculation from one publisher’s figures, not a quote.
Broken roof tile replacement cost
Per-tile prices look small, but a one-off tile repair is mostly the cost of getting a roofer up there: ladder, harness, matching tiles and checking the battens underneath. That’s why the per-job figure is much higher than the per-tile one.

Old concrete and terracotta profiles aren’t always still made. Ask how the roofer will match yours, or whether they’ll move good tiles from a hidden part of the roof to the visible side.
Metal roof repair cost: screws, sheets and valleys
On corrugated iron and Colorbond, repairs are priced by the screws, the square metres of sheet and the metres of valley that need replacing.

Yakka Labour’s national line items (published 1 October 2026, checked 22 October 2026), GST included; not Brisbane-specific. Yakka notes rusted sheets are “Usually only a few sheets near gutters” and calls rusted valleys “a common leak source”. No Brisbane contractor publishes these prices.

Roof inspection cost in Brisbane
An inspection makes sense before a big repair, when buying a house, or when the leak isn’t obvious. Ask whether you’ll get a written report with photos.

Why there’s no published call-out fee
No Brisbane roofer we checked publishes a call-out fee. Brisbane Roof and Paint mentions one without a figure: a single broken tile repair is “usually falling within a standard call-out fee”, and “emergency, after-hours call-outs will typically incur an additional fee”.
In our view, that’s because a small repair is mostly fixed cost: travel, setting up ladders and harnesses, and carrying matching tiles or sheet. Ask before the visit whether there’s a charge for coming out, whether it’s credited against the repair, and whether finding the leak is priced separately.
What a good roof repair quote lists
We suggest asking for a written quote that lists:
- what’s causing the problem, with photos from the roof
- exactly what will be replaced: the number of tiles, metres of ridge to rebed or repoint, sheets, screws, flashings or valley irons
- whether access equipment, rubbish removal and a check of the battens and sarking are included
- the GST-inclusive total, and what happens if more damage turns up once the roof is opened
- the roofer’s QBCC licence number and class. The QBCC says a licence is needed for building work “valued over $3,300”; roof tiling covers tiles, “Bedding, pointing and installing of associated flashing”, and roof and wall cladding covers metal roofs and flashings. Check them on the QBCC licensee register.
Common questions
How much does it cost to replace one broken roof tile?
Nobody in Brisbane publishes a single-tile price. Brisbane Roof and Paint says a single broken tile is “usually falling within a standard call-out fee” without giving the fee, and whatsthedamage.com.au’s Brisbane tile replacement row starts at $300 per job. If several tiles are cracked, have them done in one visit.
Why do some sites say a minor roof repair costs $1,000?
That figure comes from hipages’ national article (last updated 6 January 2026), which lists “Minor repairs: $1,000”. It’s a national figure, not Brisbane. The Brisbane figures above start lower: whatsthedamage.com.au’s minor leak row starts at $250, and Brisbane Roof and Paint’s minor leak band at $350.
Do these repair prices include GST?
whatsthedamage.com.au’s and Yakka Labour’s do. Brisbane Roof and Paint, Fortified Roofing Group and Roo Roofing don’t say. Ask for the GST-inclusive total on any quote.
Is finding the leak included in the repair price?
Ask, because it varies. A leak at an obvious cracked tile is found in minutes; one that only shows in wind-driven rain can take a water test and a search of the roof space. Some roofers price the search as an inspection.
Is it cheaper to repair or restore the whole roof?
For one leak or a few cracked tiles, a repair. When the ridges, tiles and coating are all tired, a restoration fixes everything in one visit with one set of edge protection; see the roof restoration cost guide.
